Serres examined the carbon footprints of Serres Suction bags used in hospitals using a customized calculator developed on the OpenCO2.net platform. In addition, the carbon footprint of Serres Nemo, a fluid disposal device designed to empty suction bags, was calculated.

To provide reliable information about the carbon footprints of its products, Serres acquired a customized calculator based on the ISO 14067 standard from OpenCO2net. The OpenCO2.net calculator efficiently calculates the carbon footprints of multiple products and enables the comparison of carbon footprints for suction bags made from different materials and sizes. The calculator utilizes OpenCO2.net's extensive emissions database, which contains over 6,000 emission factors collected from various sources to support companies in their emissions calculations.
