There are different emission factors in the emissions database. The emission factor is expressed as the mass of the emission (tons, kilograms, or grams) relative to the so-called functional unit, which describes, for example, the amount of product or service used.
Emission factors are divided into the following categories (the unit used in reporting):
When searching for emission factors, the name of the emission factor, category, company/organization, year of update, and emission factor value will be displayed. You can find more information on the emission factor by clicking on the emission factor. For each emission factor, it is reported, for example, whether the emission factor is counted during the use phase or the whole life cycle and whether the emission factor presents only CO2 emissions or greenhouse gas emissions in CO2 equivalents. Source information and other information are also displayed.
